Hemingbrough, St Mary, North Yorkshire, **

“The prominent steeple is almost 200 ft tall. While the tower is modest, the spire seems to shoot upwards like a rocket from behind its parapet, with no lucarnes or other interruptions. The spire is twice the height of the tower and the rest of the cruciform church serves chiefly as its launch pad.”
